On May 30th the worlds biggest aircraft the Antonov AN-225 Mriya stopped in YYZ . The AN-225 has been flying all over the world to help deliver medical supplies to support the fight against COVID-19. It delivered over 25,000 boxes of PPE to front line workers.
Before COVID-19, majority of cargo arriving and departing from Pearson was computer components, precious stones and minerals, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, fresh fruit, vegetables, and other food and textiles. However, in these changing times, Pearson has become a critical link for air cargo, ensuring Canada has access to time critical medical supplies, highly perishable goods and materials needed to support economic stability and recovery.
