Refeuling with the 60th Air Wing Travis AFB

Jetstream Photography had the pleasure to fly aboard a KC-10 from the 60th Air Wing from Travis AFB on a local refueling mission. Our day started as we took off from Travis AFB and quickly caught up with another KC-10. We made multiple contacts with the KC-10 which offered spectacular views and showed the precession flying skills of the crew as the handled the big jet with ease. We finished receiving fuel from the KC10 and headed over the Nevada desert to meet up with a Boeing E-3 Sentry from Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. We offloaded 10,000 pounds of fuel to the E-3 Sentry. Our next receivers included a pair of A-10s coming from Arizona which we unloaded 4500 pounds to each A-10. The A-10’s accompanied us back to Travis AFB where they were on static for the Thunder over the bay airshow. Having worked on the civilian version of this aircraft for 5 years, this marked the first time I flew on it which added to my excitement for this flight. Big thanks to SSGT Amber Carter , Lt Rachel Brinegar , Megan Morrissey USAF and the entire Travis Team for making this flight happen
